At the 2026 NAVHDA Annual Meeting, Clyde and Marilyn Vetter announced that they would match up to $25,000, of which their donation would be put towards the use and further development of NAVHDA’s registry, and the member donations could go into areas such as judge development at the discretion of the Executive Council.
This generous match donation lit a fire in the room and the match was met in just under 20 minutes.

Momentum Builds the Future
That moment was more than generosity, it was a statement about who we are and what we value as an organization.
Now is the time to build on that momentum.
Our shared goal is $200,000 to support strategic investments that protect and enhance NAVHDA!
We are currently focused on 2 possible areas:
  • A next generation upgrade to our breeding portal.
  • Judges educational and development and test score processing

In our new world of AI, verified data is the NAVHDA difference!

A challenge to our chapters:
All chapters are challenged to lead the way as we work toward our shared goal!
Every chapter that accepts the challenge moves NAVHDA closer to a stronger, more sustainable future!

Video: Election candidates Tim Otto, Jake Bartells, John Wolfe, and Rick Holt answer questions submitted by NAVHDA members in a live Town Hall Forum meeting held on October 7, 2025.

Dog Importation Regulation – New Rule effective August 1, 2024.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is updating its dog importation regulation. You can read the specifics at:  https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2024/s0508-Dog-Importation-Regulation.html

This poses significant issues for our Canadian membership and affects those dogs coming across the border for training, testing, and hunting. Additionally, this poses challenges for bringing over quality, purebred hunting dog puppies from reputable breeders in the EU.
