Looking for any tips, tricks, or other do or do nots regarding first time homing pigeons outside the loft.
I have had my first set of homers in the loft for about 5 weeks now. They were never flown prior. Any step by step advice is welcome too.
Put them all in a pen and individually put them in and out of the trap door? How many times/often?
I know to train them hungry, would it be beneficial to put food in and then train the trap door?
After trap door conditioning, do I open the door and let them out, shut it and add the food at my normal time? I’m bound to lose some, but I do want to minimize initial losses.
After the trap door, and food conditioning, what’s the normal routine for letting them out? Keep them in on training day?
Thanks in advance. Complete newbie at this.
