AXTON DEARYParticipantDear NAVHDA Chapter Leaders,
I am reaching out to gather input regarding the payment platforms your chapters currently use to virtually exchange money with members and merchants (e.g., Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, etc.).
After a decade, our chapter is in the process of transitioning to a new treasurer, and we have encountered a challenge: our Chapter Venmo account is tied to the outgoing treasurer’s personal account. If you did not know, Venmo does not allow accounts to be transferred to a new user, nor does it allow multiple individuals to access and view account details. This creates complications both during leadership transitions and for verifying payments if the treasurer is not available.
From my perspective, it does not seem sustainable to create a new chapter Venmo account each time we change treasurers. I would like to know if any of your chapters have faced this situation, what decisions you made, and if you have found a platform that allows multiple authorized users to view or manage account activity.
Your feedback will be very helpful as we evaluate the best approach moving forward.
Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences and insights.

PETER APLIKOWSKIParticipantHello, I am the President of Minnesota Chapter of NAVHDA. We are a large chapter of about 300 members annually and also hold the largest number of tests annually in the system. 16 days in 2025. We have done as many as 20 days. We needed to have an all-in-one system that could capture entries and payments for ALL of our member needs. We do THOUSANDS of electronic payment transactions through our website each year. We have a WordPress website with a STRIPE Payment Plugin that allows us to capture payments all through the website simultaneously when users fill out and submit a Form. (Chapter Membership, Test Entry, Event Entry, Bird Payments, Annual banquet Registration, etc…)
There are other website and payment plugin systems that can do this (Wix, Square, etc…)
We also have a PayPal account, but that is used more for internal Board use of reimbursing people for expenses, reimbursing Judges for travel expenses, etc… Used for OUTGOING, not INCOMING.
Please feel free to call me anytime if you have any questions about how this can work. 651-485-0055.

SARA BAIERParticipantHi,
I am part of Yellowstone NAVHDA, we have a Square card processing attached to our website, where we drive members to to purchase their chapter memberships, training day fees, birds, and testing. Our website person prints out QR codes for us to utilize at the event. We also have a Venmo that we accept payment through at events.
Our treasurer cuts members and judges checks for reimbursement, we are trying to get him into the new age to send digital payment, but slow is steady lol.If you have any questions feel free to reach out.
